Sustainability is at the forefront of various companies these days. As a brand, we strive to provide 100% recycled products that are both environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Our commitment to sustainability ensures that our products are of the highest quality, making them a great choice for our customers. We strive to reduce waste and energy consumption throughout our operations while educating our staff and customers on the importance of sustainability.
Like many products in our lives, floor mats rely on modern materials to give them certain beneficial characteristics. This means that we are on a journey with our customers, toward a point where the risks of slips or fatigue in the workplace can be eliminated in a way that causes the least harm to the environment.
Our view on Plastic
Plastic is an important material in various matting products and will be so for some time. It can offer strength and durability but is also lightweight. Plastic is in the spotlight currently, and we are conscious of this fact. Over the coming years, the COBA Group aims to increase the use of recycled material and find alternatives where possible.
Our view on Rubber
Rubber is a naturally sourced material and therefore renewable. It has many beneficial characteristics from flexibility to durability and is highly suited to use in floor mats that need to be both comfortable and hardwearing.
Cradle to grave
When it comes to replacing your anti-fatigue mat you might be faced with the dilemma of what to do with the old one. Wherever possible take your old mats to a qualified material processing company that can maximise the recycling of the constituent materials.
Research and Development
COBA is continually reassessing its products and processes to find ways of reducing the environmental impact. We are excited to see what the future holds.
COBA Africa’s range of 100% Recycled Products:
We offer a range of 100% recycled products. Two of these items are their Kwiklok Interlocking tiles and their MK3 Rubber Floor tiles. Although we do offer a Virgin Material Kwiklok Tile, you can still opt for the 100% Recycled Kwiklok tile.
These products are made from cut-off rubber materials and tyres that have been diverted from their waste stream and processed into these new products.
Recycling is an important way to reduce waste and conserve resources, as it helps to conserve natural resources, reduce the need for energy, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions. By using 100% recycled materials in products, we can reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Their DM Aluminium Entrance Matting system is made of highly recyclable aluminium. Recycling aluminium has significant environmental and economic benefits. Recycling aluminium saves up to 95% of the energy required to produce new aluminium from raw materials, and it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts associated with the manufacturing of aluminium.
Aluminium can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties, and it can be recycled in a closed-loop system, which means that the recycled material can be used to produce new products with the same quality as the original material. Recycling aluminium also reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, which helps to conserve natural resources and reduce pollution.
The recycling process for aluminium involves melting down the scrap aluminium and refining it to remove any impurities. The resulting aluminium can then be used to produce a wide range of products, including cans, automotive parts, construction materials, and consumer electronics.
Overall, the recyclability of aluminium makes it an attractive material for use in a wide range of applications, as it provides a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to other materials that are less recyclable or more resource-intensive to produce.
