On the 6th of October 2023, we had the honour of hosting a CPD presentation at the esteemed Boogertman + Partners in Bryanston, Sandton, Johannesburg. This event marked a significant milestone in our continuous efforts to emphasise the importance of Entrance Matting Systems and the associated risks that demand our attention.
An Architectural Powerhouse
Boogertman + Partners, founded in 1982, is a powerhouse in the architectural world, renowned for its proficiency in local and international architecture, interior design, urban planning, and graphic design. Their leadership, comprising a dynamic team of directors, shares a vision for innovative and contextually responsible design. The firm has grown to become one of Africa’s largest architectural firms, with offices spanning Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Durban, and Kenya. Their influence extends beyond borders, with projects scattered throughout Africa and the Middle East.
Collaborative Creativity at the Heart
Collaboration is at the heart of Boogertman + Partners’ philosophy, as they closely cooperate with urban designers, landscape architects, interior designers, architects, and technicians. This collaborative creative process allows them to craft bespoke solutions for each unique project brief. Furthermore, Boogertman + Partners holds the distinction of being gold founder members of the Green Building Council of South Africa, reflecting their commitment to environmental sustainability and the transformation of the built environment.
Our presentation at Boogertman + Partners was made possible with the invaluable support of Hubert Grobler, Coba Africa’s Sales Account Manager in Johannesburg, and Simon Wheeler from Specifying Techniques. We had the privilege of meeting with Lynne van Jaarsveld, the Tender Facilitator Office Administrator, who not only facilitated our CPD Presentation with Boogertman but also assisted us in the setup process.

Engaging with Architects
Throughout the presentation, we had the pleasure of engaging with a group of architects from Boogertman + Partners. Notable individuals including Nothando Lunga, Linka Bitzer, Elzanne Pieterse, Jean Grobler, Martine Demba, Andrew Ellmore, Marc van Katwijk, Chris Rojas, and Sibusiso Mncwango graced the event. Their enthusiasm and active participation were commendable.
To ensure architects’ active involvement in the presentation, we encouraged questions and rewarded correct answers with chocolates. The session was followed by a productive question-and-answer segment, during which we introduced architects to our user-friendly website for product searches, specification sheets, BIM Ready files, and a brief overview of CAT Trims and stair nosing. The architects’ competitiveness and enthusiasm persisted from start to finish.
Post-presentation, some architects stayed behind to further explore product specifications. We had the privilege of assisting Sibusiso Mncwango in specifying the Trio Scraper range. To facilitate their ongoing endeavours, we left behind a sample box of COBA Africa Entrance Matting Systems, a mini brochure, and our contact details.
Strengthening Architectural Alliances
Our presentation at Boogertman + Partners was not just an educational session but also a memorable interaction that reinforced the value of strong partnerships in the architectural world. We look forward to continuing our journey of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the architectural community.
